June 22, 2020

Dear Southend Families,

We are reaching out to provide you an update on the status of our House League Program/Future Caps and the
Learn to Train (U10-U12), Soccer for Life (U13+) participating in the EMSA TIER III - RECREATIONAL LEAGUE.

We’ve spent the last weeks having insightful, challenging and important conversations with our Governing Body.

Although our club has had our Return to Play (RTP*) protocols approved, we are processing the effects of this new normal and adapting to the logistics.

In many ways, we are looking to be the best in our community through continuing to engage and plan.

As a first step, we are hoping we can still run at some point a FUN DAY as soon as we are allowed to.

We are extremely proud that we’ve made it to this point and it’s unfortunate that many clubs have not.

The fact that many other clubs have chosen to cancel their seasons, essentially leaves us with no house league competition for anyone 8 years of age and older participating in the EMSA TIER III - RECREATIONAL LEAGUE.

The other factor is that many of the new protocols will be extremely difficult to manage for the Active Start (U4-U7), as well as our Future Caps Program.

It is for that reason that we are reaching out to let you know that we will be withdrawing our House League Program/Future Caps and all teams
participating in the EMSA TIER III - RECREATIONAL LEAGUE
for the 2020 soccer season.  Please note that this only applies to our House League / Future Caps program.

Your child is automatically registered for the 2021 Outdoor House League/Future Caps Season. There is no action needed on your part, and there will be no additional Registration fees for the 2021 Season.

All jumpstart funding will be held in trust for the 2021 House League Season.

If you do not want to be registered for the 2021 Outdoor Season at this time, and would prefer to register at a later date, please fill out the attached Request Form.  (Closed)

At this time, we would like to thank you for signing up for Southend House League and/or Future Caps Soccer.

We want to apologize for this long but necessary journey and we are committed to doing the work to make Southend Whitecaps your program of choice for 2021.

We wish you a wonderful, safe and healthy summer.

Thank you,

Abbi Lezizidis

President - Whitecaps London Soccer Club
